When it comes to carpeting in homes, there are some varied opinions, but the majority of those that want carpet are mainly concerned with the comfort it brings while those that are against it are more concerned with hygiene. While there are other reasons that are used in the debate over carpet, these two really come to a head when talking about carpeted bathrooms.
Let’s face it, no one wants to start their day by stepping onto a cold bathroom floor, so a carpet in there can be very tempting, but nowhere else in your home will you find a greater potential for bacteria and other filth to get stuck in the carpet. You also have the issue with moisture being trapped inside or underneath the carpet, creating an environment that could allow mold to flourish.
No matter what your feelings are on carpets, carpet in the bathroom really isn’t a great idea.
