One of the most essential things for a home is to have access to clean water. In fact, the average american uses between 80 and 100 gallons of water each day. So where does your water come from? Does it matter?

Many get their water from a public water system, but some, either by choice or by necessity, get their water from a private well. It could be that there is no access to a public water system, or it could be that they consider well water to be healthier. But is this necessarily the case? Sadly, sometimes well water could actually be harmful to you. The only way to know for sure what the quality of your well water is, is to send it to a lab for testing. It is important to consider where your well is located. You don’t want to have any chemicals seeping into the ground near the well, and your septic tank should not be within 50 feet from it.
